Just thought I'd make your day by "keepin' it real".

Your welcome!

Turets and crafting

We have, in our home, a room. A round room.
Officially refered to as a turret, i believe.

Turret : A small tower that projects vertically from the wall of a building, such as a medieval castle.

Exactly.
I don't think I live in a castle. I mean I do, on occasion think of myself as a queen and I do have a knight in shining armour.....but as far as I know, I live in the suburbs.

Instead of using this room as a place to project defensive covering fire to those around the grounds as it was originally intended or as a place to store the foosball table, i decided to take complete ownership and make it my craft room.

This room used to be a loverly barn red color, so of course that had to change.

Here is what it looked like after I primed the walls.
(p.s. didn't realize how hard it is to paint on rounded, curved walls)

Here is my room dressed it it's new color

Don't adjust your eyes......it's a blurry photo.

and...... drumroll please..............

I even added a chalkboard/dry-erase board for Dylan so she could hang in there with me.

We've had lots of fun in our new room.
Yea for us!!

I love Autumn

I LOVE AUTUMN!

Here's the bummer part...I live in California.
This fact is not a negative one on many occasions. In the fall....bummer. Big bummer.
Bummerific in fact.

My honeys and I will be traveling to Utah for Thanksgiving week but by the looks of things, it will practically be winter by then. No beautiful drives up the canyon to see the changing leaves. No trips to pumpkin patch or the corn maze. Poor me, right?

Here's the good part of the story.
MY MOMMY LOVES ME!
I mean, I already knew this but it was proven yet again to me today when I received a letter in the mail from her.

The contents were:
*A beautiful scene of Utah in all it's fall colorful glory that she had clipped from the newspaper.
*Some real, honest to goodness leaves that had changed color from their original green.
A note that read....
*You can't come to the mountain, so the mountain will come to you!

Aren't I a lucky girl?
I love you mom!
See ya soon!

Me and my October

I love October!!
(and I think October loves me)

Cooler temperatures, changing leaves (well not really where I live, but a girl can dream of other states), Halloween, costumes, hocus pocus, carving pumpkins, family get togethers, choosing names, parties, homemade soups, sweaters, pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, school carnivals, football gams, parades, anticipation of Thanksgiving travels to Utah, anticipation of after Thanksgiving sales, holiday decorating, planning gifts, dreams of a lovely christmas!

I dress up every year for Halloween, even if there are no parties on the horizon. What should I be this year?

Is it too early to put up the skeletons and cobwebs?
